GREAT GATSBY THEMED ENTERTAINMENT

As anyone who has seen the Baz Luhrman spectacle can testify, Great Gatsby is a vibrant theme that is the embodiment of decadence, glamour and frivolous fun. Giving guests an opportunity to dress up, let their hair down, and be entertained.

When our client came to us with this theme, we spent time selecting Great Gatsby themed entertainment that we felt best represented the spirit of Gatsby. This being our fourth consecutive year of providing the entertainment programme for this event, we felt we had the measure of this dynamic crowd of 500 guests, and wanted to give them a show to remember!

We have included a few pictures from the event and some details as to how we arrived at making some of the crucial Great Gatsby themed entertainment choices to make the event the huge success that it was.

GREAT GATSBY THEMED ENTERTAINMENT / GALA RECEPTION

Guests arrive at the venue for reception drinks, then make their way through to the gala dinner and are eventually treated to a full-on after party. This gives us a lot of scope for a varied Great Gatsby themed entertainment programme, and working with our talented and ambitious clients to provide the ultimate in party entertainment has proved to be an enjoyable and creative process.

Guests were greeted by six Charleston dancers and a stunning vintage vehicle. We selected these performers based on their fun and vibrant personalities as well as humorous choreography. We provided hair, make-up and styling to ensure the entertainers were the show-stopping entrance piece we all anticipated.

Once inside the reception, guests were treated to champagne, live music, playful performance, and even a shoe shine was on hand to ensure everyone looked their best and were ready to party!

We were commissioned to record a voice over to help direct the programme of events during the course of the evening. Using a trusted recording studio in London and a versatile voice over artist, our Great Gatsby themed ‘Entertainment club owner’ was able to successfully move the crowds into the rooms they needed to be in, as well as introducing all the performances during the course of the evening.

GREAT GATSBY THEMED ENTERTAINMENT / GALA DINNER

One of our favourite jazz singers Sewuese performed with her band during dinner creating a speakeasy club atmosphere whilst guests dined. She was a huge hit with guests who enjoyed her charismatic performance style and the way she was able to work the room. In between courses guests were treated to a series of Great Gatsby themed entertainment from a variety of skilled acrobats.

An aerial flapper silks routine was an upbeat start to the dinner, followed by an impressive tap and acrobatic all male dance routine,with a spectacular aerial cube finale piece from International Great Gatsby themed entertainment artists Crazee Horse.

As the building is listed, it was necessary to put an aerial truss into the space in order to rig the aerial equipment. Our clients agreed that more than one aerial act would make full use of this expensive addition to the production, helping justifying the expense and utilise the equipment as much as possible.

GREAT GATSBY THEMED ENTERTAINMENT / AFTER PARTY

By the time the dinner was over guests were raring to get to the afterparty and make the most of all that it had to offer. A female magician played her hand and worked with the casino whilst our beat the cheat illusionist set up shop and wowed guests with his slight of hand. Guests were pampered in the styling parlour to add to their Great Gatsby look with makeup and accessories.

Our beautiful hostesses gave out chocolate cigars and marshmallows from trays. Guests sampled specialist tequila from our Great Gatsby themed entertainers prohibition style suitcase, and all manner of entertainment kept guests dancing and playing 20’s themed games into the night.
